Our mission is ‘creating ears for artificial intelligence’ by making a sound cognition system that can understand the information hidden in the audio. It might sound somewhat technical, but our ultimate goal is making a positive impact in the world to make more intelligent and convenient daily life of everyone.

We’re looking for someone who enjoys solving difficult problems with innovative ideas, respect various opinions and perspectives, also love to learn new things and share with others. We value diversity of background, experience, and perspectives because our research covers any sound that human hears in daily life, which requires highly interdisciplinary knowledge.

Software Engineer

We’re looking for passionate software engineers who wish to apply the latest techniques for building cutting-edge audio cognition system. Depending on your interests and skills, you could be working on developing our APIs, database, data gathering platform, mobile application, or software solutions to support our research teams.

* Minimum qualifications:

– Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field, or equivalent experience

– Programming experience in Python or C++ with a desire to learn new languages

– Experience working with two or more from the following:

API design (gRPC, RESTful), cloud infrastructure (Google cloud, AWS), container (Kubernetes, docker), edge computing, mobile application (iOS, Android), and/or database design (MySQL)

– Experience working with large datasets in distributed/parallel computing systems

– Good communication skills and understanding of maths

* Preferred qualifications:

– Master’s degree

– Knowledge of TensorFlow frameworks

– Experience with various production-level industrial projects

– A passion for AI

Research Engineer

Research Engineers at Cochlear.ai work on various research projects using academic knowledge as well as practical implementation skills. We’re looking for creative and self-reliant researchers who wish to apply cutting-edge techniques to solve critical problems. Main responsibilities are designing, implementing, and evaluating algorithms, and bring them to real-world service.

* Minimum qualifications:

– Bachelor’s degree in electronic engineering, computer science, or equivalent field

– Strong knowledge of python, machine learning, and statistics

– Knowledge of TensorFlow frameworks

* Preferred qualifications:

– Master’s degree

– Working knowledge of C++

– Experience with various production-level industrial projects

Research Scientist

Research Scientists at Cochlear.ai are at the forefront of groundbreaking research. They tackle fundamental problems in audio cognition, machine learning, and AI. Interest in handling audio data is necessary, but experience with other disciplines such as NLP or computer vision is also helpful. Research Scientist should know how to report, present, and share research findings clearly and efficiently, also find and set up a research goal that will solve critical problems in the fields.

* Minimum qualifications:

– PhD in machine learning, neuroscience, computer science, electronic engineering, or related field

* Preferred qualifications:

– Proven track record of publications

– A passion for AI
